From April 4th-6th we had 35 children in total came to our club. They enjoyed Bible stories, singing, crafts, activities and quizzes. On Wednesday we heard the story of David and Goliath, and the children painted stones as well as making a life size junk model of Goliath! On Thursday after the story of Elijah on Mount Carmel, they built altars of Jenga blocks, which they then poured water over. In strictly controlled conditions an adult then tried to set fire to the ‘altars’! They also made cloud mobiles to remind them of the rain that God sent. On Friday the story was of King Jesus riding into Jerusalem, and they made salvation bracelets. Each day we enjoyed singing old and new songs, including one written by our very own Adrian! Memory verse activities and a colouring competition helped them to learn “Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord”. On Friday evening parents and carers were invited as well to Pizzas and Prizes, where the children received their goody bags bursting with prizes and gifts. The crown shaped piñata that had gradually been filling up over the 3 days was opened and piles of sweets poured out. Zia Pizza gave a generous discount and delivered 10 delicious pizzas which were soon eaten, along with plenty of garlic bread and salad. We give thanks to God that he brought so many children along and that we were able to share the gospel of Jesus with them and their families.
