Craft Evening

Providence held its third Christmas evening on the 3rd of December. It was an opportunity to make crafts in time for Christmas, have fun, and also learn more about what it means to be a Christian.

There were many crafts on offer, including gift tags, pillowcases to design, felt birds and pillar box gift boxes. More than eighty ladies attended, and had a lot of fun choosing what crafts to make. Each lady was given a bag to put her crafts in, and designed a gift tag for it. There were a great variety of crafts produced, from a bag for dog toys to a bird mobile. After about an hour desserts were served, all very delicious!

Then Clare Baalham, organizer of the chapel's playgroup Bright Sparks, was interviewed by her mother about what it means to be a Christian. There was an opportunity to ask Clare questions about her faith. Subjects that were discussed included whether everyone has the potential to become a Christian, and what makes you a Christian- is it just going to church or your parents being Christians? Clare spoke about how personal her faith is to her. Copies of the gospel of Luke were offered to all who wanted them. Afterwards, the ladies continued to make crafts, with the last lady not leaving until 11! A good time was had by all.

If you missed the craft evening or would like to come again, please keep checking our website and Facebook page for further dates. We hope to hold another Christmas craft evening next year.
